For those who didn’t earn a high school diploma, GED’s provide the path towards training for a better career…and a shot at a better life.
But what happens when GED’s suddenly get more difficult? According to NPR, it’s leading to a sizeable decrease in the percentage of those who pass the test. In fact, since the launch of the updated GED in January 2014, there were only 58,524 GED certificates awarded last year. Compare that to 540,535 in 2013. That’s an 89% decrease!
