On May 28, 2014, Mitch Talenfeld, CEO MDT Marketing, accepted the first-ever Spirit of FAPSC Award on behalf of MDT Marketing. The entire MDT team was really excited because we are all proud to be part of this sector and the important work it’s doing to help schools and students be successful. The Florida Association of Postsecondary Schools and Colleges (FAPSC) thanked MDT for its part in supporting the association’s response to the U.S. Department of Education’s proposed gainful employment regulations. The FAPSC Communications Committee, chaired by Mitch Talenfeld, was able to rally together over 100 Florida leaders, all opposed to this government overreach and the harm it poses to Florida students and the workforce. “While I am pleased that MDT Marketing received this recognition, I am even more gratified by the success the FAPSC community has been able to achieve in a relatively short amount of time. The battle against this harmful regulation is far from over, but we have brought the issue front and center by mobilizing the Florida business community, sending a letter to Education Secretary Arne Duncan signed by the Florida Hospital Association, the Florida Restaurant and Lodging Association, the Associated Industries of Florida, and many other business executives and employers statewide. Op-eds in the Miami Herald and Orlando Sentinel shared our concerns with the public and policymakers alike,” said Talenfeld.
